#Logic Officially Announces Long-Awaited ‘Ultra 85’ Album
On Sunday (December 31), the Maryland native shared a blank image to his Instagram profile and captioned it: “Ultra 85 2024.”
This is not just another new project from the 33-year-old MC as it was the original working title of his short-lived retirement album in 2020. When he signed off with No Pressure, many assumed that he simply changed the name and gave fans the same tracklist.
However, the outro of “Heard Em Say” from said LP features a mechanical voice saying: “This concludes the No Pressure program/ No Pressure– Ultra 85, welcome to the Ultra 85 program.”
Naturally, this left many confused because it didn’t align with Bobby Tarantino’s plans of leaving music, which he went back on less than a year later.

In 2017, soon after the release of his Everybody, Logic premiered his new documentary at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. HipHopDX was present at the screening, which was followed by a Q&A panel with the filmmakers.
The rapper and producer, who had started teasing Ultra 85 as his last album around that time, first took questions from members of the audience. One person asked him something most fans wanted to know: Why was his next album going to be his last?
He answered: “One thing I can say regarding this, and I’m glad you asked this, is it’s gonna be celebratory. It’s not going to be the last time I make music. All my fans who really appreciate me, and they’re going to follow me on this journey — actually, we’re going to hold hands together, whether it’s acting or writing novels, movies, anything.”
He added: “So I want you guys to follow me beyond, because Ultra 85 will make eight, you can call them mixtapes if you want, but eight albums. Eight projects over eight years. And now I’m excited to go to the next round of entertainment, on the big screen.”
By that, it seemed like the “rap Larry David” would be shifting his focus away from music, which turns out only happened for a brief phase.
