The Play It Cool, Guys anime will begin on October 10 in Japan. A new trailer and visual previewing more of its clumsy but cool main characters ahead of the show’s start were released in addition to the premiere date announcement.

Details for the show’s opening song, which is featured in the new trailer, were also revealed. Mafumafu is performing the theme song, which is titled “Seishun Kippu.”

Additionally, the supporting cast was announced with Satomi Satou as Asami Futami, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Sota Shiki, Taku Yashiro as Kurosaki, Kengo Takanashi as Akai, Seiichirou Yamashita as Kida, Kouhei Amasaki as Aoyama, Haruka Shiraishi as Momo Momosaki, and You Taichi as Akane Kouno.

Play It Cool, Guys is based on the Square Enix-published manga by Kokone Nata, which began in 2019 and will release its fifth tankoubon volumes on October 21, 2022. It is serialized on Gangan Pixiv and published under the Gangan Comics Pixiv label. The manga was originally a Twitter-posted comic.

The anime’s staff includes Chiaki Kon (Sailor Moon Eternal) as director, Makoto Uezu (Rumble Garanndoll) as series composer, Eri Taguchi (Boruto animation director) as character designer and chief animation director, and Masato Nakayama (22/7) as music composer. Studio Pierrot is the animation production company. 

Other staff members include Momoko Nakagawa (Sing a Bit of Harmony) as main animator, Studio Wyeth’s Mio Isshiki (Harukana Receive) as art director, Mayumi Nagashima (Gunjou No Magmel) as color designer, and EXPLOSION’s Naoki Etou (Assault Lily Bouquet) as photography director.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Chiaki Kobayashi as Hayate Ichikura, Kouki Uchiyama as Shun Futami, Yuuichirou Umehara as Takayuki Mima, and Shouya Chiba as Soma Shiki.
