As we inch closer to the new year, we’re starting to hear more about Google’s upcoming budget Pixel 7a smartphone. And while details about the specs remain a mystery, today we’re getting our first look at the hardware based on early renders.

The often reliable leakster Onleaks is back with his latest images of the all-new Google Pixel 7a. These renders are shared by SmartPrix and give us a good idea of what to expect from the phone. Looking at these Pixel 7a renders, Google’s new phone will be highly similar to the well-received Pixel 6a, with a slight design refresh to match Google’s latest 7-series.

As expected, the Pixel 7a will look almost identical to the flagship Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro from earlier this year. The first images show the budget phone in a pearl white color, with a contrasting silver camera array on the back. At first glance, it appears identical.

However, Google’s Pixel 7a is always affordable, so we’ll likely receive a slight downgrade in the camera department. And as you can see, the bezel around what will likely be the same 6.1-inch FHD+ 1080×2400 OLED display is a bit bigger. We have heard that the Pixel 7a could jump up to a 90Hz display, but that’s yet to be confirmed.

Based on previous releases, it’s safe to assume that the Pixel 7a will arrive sometime between March and May of 2023, running the latest Android 13 release. Google will likely use its in-house Tensor processor, and we’re expecting 128GB of storage and 6-8GB of RAM.

We have heard a few reports that the Pixel 7a could finally offer wireless charging, it’ll retain the in-screen fingerprint sensor, and the cameras could get a slight bump up from last year. If this phone follows previous models, expect the Pixel 7a to cost around $449. Expect to learn more in the coming months ahead of its inevitable release date.
