#Petition looks to halt film ‘Habit’ starring Paris Jackson as Jesus

More than 260,000 people have signed a petition to block the upcoming movie “Habit,” starring Michael Jackson’s daughter as Jesus, which detractors are labeling “Christianophobic garbage.”

In the “blasphemous” flick, the 22-year-old model and actress plays a girl with a Jesus fetish who gets mixed up in a drug deal gone bad — and escapes by dressing up as a nun. Her co-stars include Disney-darling-turned-porn-director Bella Thorne, also 22, as well as musicians Josie Ho, Gavin Rossdale, Jamie Hince and Alison Mosshart, plus model Andreja Pejic.

The petition, which targets Lionsgate and Warner Bros., denounces “Habit” as “Christianophobic garbage that is spread nowadays, but is somehow accepted and praised by society,” reports the Guardian. 

The critics follow in the footsteps of One Million Moms, which claims that the “sacrilegious” film “ridicules people of faith” and started its own petition that has garnered more than 70,000 signatures.

A release date for “Habit” has not been announced.

This isn’t the first time a controversial Jesus flick has been crucified by Christian groups. In January, a Brazilian judge ordered Netflix to remove “The First Temptation of Christ” — which portrays Jesus as gay — from the streaming lineup in that country. The ban has since been overturned by the nation’s supreme court, reports the BBC.
