# People Can Fly acquires Phosphor Studios

People Can Fly has acquired Phosphor Studios and renamed the studio People Can Fly Chicago, the company announced.

Phosphor Studios is a mid-sized development team founded in 2009 and led by Justin Corcoran, Jarod Pranno, and Chip Sineni. Its portfolio includes The Brookhaven Experiment, Heroes Reborn: Gemini, and Nether.

With the acquisition, People Can Fly now has over 320 staff across seven locations worldwide. People Can Fly Chicago is its third location in North America.

“A new chapter opens for our team,” said Phosphor Studios CEO Justin Corcoran in a press release. “We are very excited to be joining People Can Fly to open a brand new AAA studio—People Can Fly Chicago. Our goal is to strengthen People Can Fly’s presence in the US and help build People Can Fly as a global brand.” 

People Can Fly CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski  added, “Taking over the Phosphor Studios’ team is simply an execution of our strategy, announced during PCF Group’s recent IPO. With the variety of on-going projects, we need well-seasoned, ambitious professionals to bring our plans to fruition. Considering Phosphor’s team experience and quality I’m sure they will be a great addition to the People Can Fly family and will facilitate our growth. Welcome on board!”

People Can Fly is currently working on two new AAA projects: a new game for Square Enix and an original action adventure title for Take-Two Interactive.
