The Air Force is probing whether a drone flew close to Air Force One on Sunday evening as President Trump returned to the White House from New Jersey, according to a report.

Reporters aboard Air Force One for the trip tweeted about the incident shortly before landing at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Sebastian Smith, a reporter for Agence France-Presse, wrote that “while descending, we flew right over a small object, remarkably close to the president’s plane. Resembled a drone though I’m no expert.”

Another reporter, Jennifer Jacobs from Bloomberg, tweeted multiple people “saw what appeared to be a drone just below the plane.”

The White House referred questions to the Pentagon, which said it was aware of the report.

“The matter is under review,” said a statement from the Air Force unit which oversees Air Force One operations at Joint Base Andrews. “The 89th Airlift Wing’s C-32A aircraft landed safely without incident.”

Trump spent the weekend at his golf resort in Bedminister, New Jersey after visiting his sick brother, Robert Trump, in the hospital in Manhattan. Robert died Saturday at age 71.
