#Patrick Mahomes gives baby name update with fiancée Brittany Matthews

Patrick Mahomes is crediting fiancée Brittany Matthews as the mastermind behind the couple’s epic gender reveal last week.

During an appearance Monday on 610 Sports’ “The Drive,” the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback — who is expecting his first child, a daughter, with Matthews — spoke about how they wanted their pups, Silver and Steel Mahomes, to be part of their special moment.

“We definitely wanted to involve the dogs, they’re such a big part of our lives, and so, I kind of gave it to Brittany and she planned it all, she’s good at that type of stuff, and I kind of just showed up and was there for the dogs to roll out,” Mahomes said. “We had like eight different things that did the gender reveal.”

In a video shared on both Mahomes and Matthews’ social media accounts, the couple’s four-legged friends walk onto a white sheet with their paws dipped in pink paint. Pink confetti was also prayed from a canon.

Mahomes also responded to questions about the name of his daughter-to-be, as Twitter suggested Kacie for Kansas City and Olivia, a nod to the Chiefs’ win at Super Bowl LIV in February.

“We bounced around some ideas here and there, but I don’t know if we’ve settled on one just yet, but when we do I’ll make sure to let everyone know,” he said.

Mahomes and Matthews, both 25, announced their engagement in September, the same month they confirmed her pregnancy.

“Mom & Dad, taking a small detour to the wedding,” Matthews posted to Instagram.
