Patrick Ewing, the former Knicks star and current Georgetown coach, was one of many big names to have contracted the novel coronavirus.

He didn’t just have symptoms of the virus — he also suffered a blood clot as the result of it in May.

“It was rough,” he told CNN. “In the hospital for five days. Fever. Body aches. I had a blood clot. It not only affects you physically, it affects you mentally.”

Ewing is doing better now, is symptom-free and said he is feeling fine. But it was a scary time for the 58-year-old Hall of Fame player.

“You have to do the best job you can to stay safe and if you get it, do the best job that you can to not spread it. That was one of the things, once I found out, I self-quarantined. Once I couldn’t handle it anymore I went to the hospital.

“The nurses and doctors at Georgetown [University] Hospital did an outstanding job of making sure I was safe and I was able to come through it.”
