#Past and Present Collide in The Detective is Already Dead TV Anime Trailer Trailer

Moving on can be a melancholy thing, and now a new trailer and the Japanese broadcast schedule have been published for The Detective is Already Dead (known in Japan as Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru. or “Tanmoshi” for short), an upcoming TV anime based on the series of romantic comedy / mystery / battle action light novels written by nigozyu and illustrated by Umibouzu about a young man who tries to return to a normal life after being the former assistant of a globe-trotting great detective.

The original The Detective is Already Dead light novels are released in Japan by KADOKAWA under their MF Bunko imprint, and an English language version is also in-development from Yen Press, who describe the story of the series as follows:

“You will be my assistant.”

 

During a plane hijacking four years ago, Kimitsuka Kimihiko wound up becoming the assistant to a beautiful detective named Siesta. The pair traveled the world, solving crimes and battling criminal organizations. Until Siesta died, anyway. Kimitsuka thought that would spell the end of his adventures and a return to ordinary life, but an encounter with a girl who bears an uncanny resemblance to Siesta suggests that fate has other plans.

The Detective is Already Dead TV anime is directed by Manabu Kurihara and features animation production by ENGI. The series will broadcast in Japan according to the following TV schedule:

• AT-X: every Sunday during the 21:30 time slot beginning on July 04, 2021, with repeat broadcasts on Wednesdays at 29:00 and Sundays at 6:30.
• TOKYO MX: every Sunday during the 24:30 time slot beginning on July 04, 2021. (The initial broadcast only will be scheduled for 24:00.)
• Sun TV: every Sunday during the 24:30 time slot beginning on July 04, 2021.
• KBS Kyoto: every Sunday during the 24:45 time slot beginning on July 04, 2021. (The initial broadcast only will be scheduled for 24:15.)
• BS NTV: every Monday during the 24:00 time slot beginning on July 05, 2021.
• TV Aichi: every Monday during the 26:05 time slot beginning on July 05, 2021.

The first broadcast of The Detective is Already Dead will be a special, hour-length double episode. Also, please note that some Japanese TV schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, so for example the 26:05 time slot on Monday evening is actually on Tuesday morning at 2:05am JST.
