#The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei Adds 3 New Cast Members

Three new cast members are joining the voice cast of the upcoming The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei: He Just Solves All the Mysteries TV anime series. The anime will premiere in Japan in April 2025.

The three new cast members include Shinnosuke Tachibana as Reijiro Enokizu, Shuya Nishiji as Takuboku Sekiguchi, and Takanori Hoshino as Shutaro Kiba.

They join main cast members Kaori Maeda as Kanna Kusakabe and Katsuyuki Konishi as Akihiko Chuzenji.

Chihiro Kumano (Unnamed Memory assistant director) is directing the anime series, with Atsushi Oka (Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie co-scriptwriter) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, and Masahiko Suzuki (Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs) as character designer. 100studio is in charge of the animation production.

The anime is based on the school mystery manga by Aki Shimizu, which was first launched in Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine Edge on October 17, 2019 and has released 10 tankobon volumes as of October 2024. The series was then moved to the Comic Days website on December 20, 2023 after Shonen Magazine Edge ceased publication on October 17, 2023.

Shimizu’s manga is a spinoff and prequel manga to Natsuhiko Kyougoku’s Hyakki Yakou novel series.

Pony Canyon describes the synopsis of The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei as:

This story takes place before the exorcist Kyogokudo opened up a used bookstore… Our setting is in Tokyo in 1948, just right after the war.

Kanna Kusakabe had just become a second-year at a high school when she meets the new language teacher, Akihiko Chuzenji. Mysterious supernatural things keep happening around Kanna. Once again today, Kanna is going to open the doors to the library prep room to seek help from the surly Chuzenji-sensei who is waiting inside.

A high school supernatural mystery featuring the unlikely duo between a teacher and a high school girl is about to begin!
