Crafting the Fermenter

Before you can start fermenting in Valheim, you need to make sure you have the Fermenter. Crafting the Fermenter is quite an easy task. All you need to do is gather the following materials:

• 30x Fine Wood
• 5x Bronze
• 10x Resin

To craft the Fermenter, the first thing you need is Bronze. Bronze can be used to craft the Fermenter as well as the Bronze Axe. Bronze Axe is used to chop down Oak and Birch trees, which yield fine wood. The Bronze Axe can be crafted in the Forge using 4x Wood, 8x Bronze, and 2x Leather Straps. To obtain Bronze, you need to put Copper and Tin ores in the Smelter. Copper and Tin can be found in the Black Forest region in the game.

Once you have the Bronze Axe, you can cut down Oak and Birch trees and obtain the required amount of Fine Wood for the Fermenter. Lastly, the resin can be obtained by cutting down trees or killing Greylings and Greydwarfs. These creatures are again common in the Black Forest region, so you can farm resin while looking for Copper and Tin.

Crafting Mead Bases

Once you have the Fermenter ready, you need to gather the materials required for brewing mead. To brew meads, you need to first craft enough mead base for that specific mead. Here are all the mead base recipes.

• Minor Healing Mead Base- 10x Honey, 5x Blueberries, 10x Raspberries, 1x Dandelion.
• Medium Healing Mead Base- 10x Honey, 4x Bloodbags, 10x Raspberries, 1x Dandelion.
• Minor Stamina Mead Base- 10x Honey, 10x Raspberries, 10x Yellow Mushroom.
• Medium Stamina Mead Base- 10x Honey, 10x Cloudberries, 10x Yellow Mushroom.
• Frost Resistance Mead Base- 10x Honey, 5x Thistle, 2x Bloodbags, 1x Greydwarf Eye.
• Poison Resistance Mead Base- 10x Honey, 5x Thistle, 10x Coal, 1x Neck Tail.
• Tasty (Stamina) Mead Base- 10x Honey, 10x Raspberries, 5x Blueberries.

After obtaining the required items, you can craft the mead base in the Cauldron. The Cauldron can be crafted using 10x Tin, and the recipe is unlocked after you smelt tin for the first time.

How to brew mead

Once you have the required mead base, you can use the Fermenter to brew mead. Brewing mead in the fermenter can take anywhere between two to three days. This means that you need to wait for an hour or half in real-time until you are able to use the mead. Each mead base yields six potions. Considering that it is quite a tedious task to craft the mead bases and the mead, you can as well try to build multiple fermenters to speed up the entire process.
