Another day, another interesting manga to check out. This time, we’re checking out OVERGEARED. Fun fact, I stumbled upon this one in a Reddit comment, not even on a post, a comment of all places!

Shin Youngwoo has had an unfortunate life and is now stuck carrying bricks on construction sites. He even had to do labor in the VR game, Satisfy! However, luck would soon enter his hapless life. His character, ‘Grid’, would discover the Northern End Cave for a quest, and in that place, he would find ‘Pagma’s Rare Book’ and become a legendary class player…

The basis of Overgeared is that it follows a virtual reality game called Satisfy, developed by the world’s top genius scientist Lim Cheolho and world-class scientists. If you’ve read Solo Leveling, or literally any manga with online games as the basis, then you’ll be familiar with this concept. Speaking of Solo Leveling, Overgeared also has an OP lead, but unlike Solo Leveling, this guy is funny as hell. Greed, the main protagonist’s name, wants to succeed, and he figures a game where 2 billion people play every day, would be his way out of a miserable life. In one of his quests, as fate would have it, he stumbles upon a legendary class, the Blacksmith. From there, you get the idea.

I read about ten chapters, and so far it good. The art is amazing, I’ll give it that too! Basically, if you want another variety to the Solo Leveling aesthetics but with that crude sense of humor, then check it out. There are 86 chapters out now so there’s some catching up to do.
