#OSHI NO KO Season 2 Releases Main Trailer and Visual, Reveals July 3 Premiere

A main visual and the first main trailer for OSHI NO KO Season 2 have been released, with both promising an impactful return for the show as Aqua and the gang take on the 2.5D stage play Tokyo Blade. We also have a premiere date: July 3.

The trailer in particular has a few scenes that swiftly steal the eye with some spicy and impactful color usage. For OSHI NO KO Season 1, assistant director Ciao Nekotomi handled color script duties and shared the credit with Episode 6 storyboard artist and director Kuniyasu Nishina (who is now her co-assistant director) on a few episodes. It’s likely that Nekotomi is back in the role, and it’d be interesting to see if Nishina has expanded color script involvement for Season 2.

In addition to that, there are visuals for Aqua and Akane, the addition of Ayane Sakura and Daisuke Ono to the cast (as Abiki Samejima and GOA, respectively), and updates to the staff roster (which you can find at the end of the article).

OSHI NO KO is based on the manga written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and drawn by Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish). It began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump in 2020 and has 14 tankoubon volumes as of April 2024.

Yen Press describes the manga as:

Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense! Lies are an idol’s greatest weapon in this outrageous manga from Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish).

OSHI NO KO‘s first season aired in the Spring 2023 anime season and ran for 11 episodes.
