A new sci-fi survival original TV anime from One-Punch Man director Shingo Natsume and studio Madhouse titled Sonny Boy, has been announced and is set to premiere sometime this year. The anime’s concept visual and promotional video was also revealed.
The anime’s staff includes Natsume as director and script writer, Norifumi Kugai (ACCA: 13) as character designer, original designs by Hisashi Euguchi (Perfect Blue), Mari Fujino (Dororo) as art director, Ken Hashimoto (BEASTARS) as color key artist, Akane Fushihara (No Game, No Life Zero) as director of photography, Kashiko Kimura (Btooom!) as editor, and Shōji Hata (Death Note) as sound director. The anime’s theme song “Shōnen Shōjo” (Boys and Girls) is performed by Ging Nang Boyz band vocalist Kazunobu Mineta.
The survival anime follows 36 middle school boys and girls who suddenly find themselves in a different dimension and wake up with supernatural powers.
