#Orient Anime Adaptation Scheduled for 2022, New Details

The main staff and cast of the upcoming Orient anime adaptation has been announced, with Tetsuya Yanagisawa (Senran Kagura: Shinovi Master Tokyo Youma-hen, High School DxD) being the series’ director. The anime is scheduled for 2022. 

Other announced staff include Mariko Kunisawa (Ascendance of a Bookworm) as scriptwriter, Takahiro Kishida (Kageki Shoujo!!) as character designer, and Hideyuki Fukasawa (FATE/GRAND ORDER THE MOVIE Divine Realm of the Round Table: Camelot Wandering; Agateram.) as music composer. A.C.G.T. is the animation production company. 

Meanwhile, the cast includes Yuma Uchida as Musashi and Sōma Saitō as Kōjiro. 

The Orient anime was announced in January. It is based on the manga by Magi’s Shinobu Ohtaka, which began serialization in 2018 in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine. It became serialized in the monthly Bessatsu Shounen Magazine (also by Kodansha) in February. 

Kodansha describes the story as:

Ancient Japanese warriors, invaders from another world, and … motorcycles?! You don’t want to miss this crazy, action-packed shonen manga by the creator of Magi!
