#Two NYPD execs asked to leave amid Adams admin shake-up

Two top NYPD executives — who had been quietly pulling in a hefty pension and a nearly quarter-million-dollar salary under the dubious title of deputy commissioner — have been shown the door, The Post has learned.

Internal Affairs boss Joseph Reznick and the head of the department’s employee relations Robert Ganley were asked to leave Thursday as new Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell and her administration slowly start to clean house, police sources said.

There was no word on who would replace them. The NYPD did not immediately respond for comment.

News of the ousters comes just weeks after The Post revealed Ganley was taxied back and forth from New York City to Philadelphia for a swanky gala in a police chopper on taxpayers’ dime.

Ganley, 67, was filling in for former Police Commissioner Dermot Shea at the Annual Army-Navy Gala on Dec. 10 when he took the flight that roughly cost at least $1,200 in fuel for the 200-mile round trip, on top of the salaries of the flight crew, who pull in more than $100,000 a year.

An FDNY chief also attended the gala in place of the former fire commissioner but opted to drive the few hours to the City of Brotherly Love.

Ganley and Reznick both collected a pension and salary while serving as NYPD deputy commissioners — despite not actually carrying the title by the letter of the law, The Post previously reported.

The 70-year-old Reznick — who sources told The Post often bragged about his sizable paycheck — was making a salary of $241,116 and had been collecting a $177,825.72 annual pension since 2016 when he turned 65.

He formally retired as a uniformed officer in the NYPD in 2014 after joining in 1982 — but was simultaneously appointed to the post of deputy commissioner.

The former IAB head boasted on his LinkedIn page that the role was created for him “due to a ridiculous restricted age requirement” capping uniformed service at 63.

While Reznick was at the helm of IAB for nearly eight years, the unit made headlines for using the department’s controversial use of administrative subpoenas to obtain the data from a Post reporter’s Twitter account. The unit also successfully got their hands on another reporter’s phone records during the internal probe into a leaked mug shot of Cuba Gooding Jr.

Ganley has been collecting a $127,541 annual pension since 2019. He filed his retirement paperwork 14 months earlier when he was appointed to the employee-relations role and currently makes a $245,438 annual salary.

Both were referred to as deputy commissioners despite not carrying the title officially, according to city payroll. Reznick was listed as a director of Internal Affairs and Ganley was an assistant to the police commissioner, city documents show.

Under the City Charter, the NYPD is only supposed to have seven deputies. The department, though, currently has 17 deputies commissioners.
