After a 2020 launch in the U.K. and India, the excellent OnePlus Nord N10 5G and Nord N100 are slated for a January 15th U.S. release. The phones, priced at $300 and $180 respectively, manage to pack large 90hz panels and advanced Snapdragon chipsets at a price point usually reserved for smaller, slower devices.

The $300 OnePlus Nord N10 5G is one of the cheapest 5G phones available to date, and it scored a 7/10 in our review late last year. It features a fantastic 6.49-inch 90hz LCD display, a snappy Snapdragon 690 chipset, and OnePlus’ 30-watt Warp Charging. And while the N10 5G doesn’t produce the best photos, its quad-camera array is quite flexible and contains a 64-megapixel main sensor, 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel monochrome (black and white) lens to sense depth.

OnePlus’ $180 Nord N100 is a 4G-only device with a large 6.52-inch 90hz LCD display, Snapdragon 460 chipset, and a massive 5,000mAh battery (but no Warp Charging). It’s a snappy and reliable phone, but the camera array is a bit lackluster with just a 13-megapixel main sensor, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel monochrome lens.

Both the N10 5G and the Nord N100 ship with OxygenOS 10.5 (Android 10), which is unfortunate because other OnePlus devices are already on OxygenOS 11 (Android 11). OnePlus also claims that its N10 5G and N100 will only receive one full OS update, which severely limits the longevity and security of the devices. For reference, manufacturers like Google and Samsung are committing to three update cycles for their newest devices.

Preorders for the N10 5G and Nord 100 begin January 8th on the OnePlus website. The phones are also available through T-Mobile or the prepaid Metro by T-Mobile service beginning January 15th.
