If you’ve been following the Windows 11 news lately, you know all about the minimum hardware requirements for Microsoft’s new operating system. One of those requirements is a TPM 2.0 chip. ASUS is busy releasing BIOS updates with automatic TPM support, and here’s how you can get the update or see if your ASUS motherboard is ready.

The motherboard manufacturer just released BIOS updates for various chipsets, while others are still under testing and should arrive shortly. Many of those include older motherboards from 2017 (Intel Kaby Lake processors), not to mention both Intel and AMD chipsets. Once you apply the BIOS update, it’ll automatically enable the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) on supported hardware.

As we said above, ASUS is busy with the updates, but it hasn’t released one for every capable device yet. However, Neowin found a big list of every Windows 11-ready ASUS motherboard, not to mention download links and devices under testing. Choose either Intel or AMD, then look through the list and see if you have an update waiting.

Once you’re on the list, hit “CTRL+F” and type in your model to find it quickly. In addition, ASUS says that the new BIOS will automatically enable TPM on AMD systems or Platform Trust Technology (PTT) for those using Intel. And, if you saw ASUS’s earlier list, it’s worth checking again as the company recently added several chipsets.

Big manufacturers like Gigabyte and MSI have also shared similar lists as each company prepares for the inevitable Windows 11 release. As a reminder, we’re expecting Windows 11 to arrive sometime between October and the holidays.
