Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine tested positive for coronavirus Thursday — ahead of a scheduled meeting with President Trump.

The Republican took the COVID-19 test as part of standard protocol before he was supposed to greet Trump at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland Thursday afternoon, DeWine’s office said in a tweeted statement.

“Governor DeWine tested positive. Governor DeWine has no symptoms at the present time,” the statement said.

The governor is now headed back to Columbus with first lady Fran DeWine, who will also be tested.

The statement said the governor plans to quarantine at his home in Cedarville for the next two weeks.

Lt. Gov. Jon Husted was also tested for coronavirus but was negative.

The president is scheduled to tour the Whirlpool plant in Clyde, where he’ll deliver remarks about his administration’s plan to boost the manufacturing industry and American-made products, according to the Fremont News Messenger.
