Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. After months of waiting, we finally saw some gameplay, extensive gameplay! And I am cautiously skeptical at everything that was shown!

We saw everything, from gameplay, gunplay, to shipplay, first and third-person, dialogue, customization, and heck even space travel. Starfield, from everything that was shown at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, looked good, but nothing to lose your mind over, to be honest. In the gameplay trailer, we saw the player land on planets, mine resources, and fought some space pirates. Yet nothing really stood out beyond amazing. If there was one thing that did have me in a state of surprise, it was the level of customization that the game offered. As always, when it comes to a Bethesda game, customization is always king. You’ll be able to build your own spaceship and crew it with NPCs of your choice too. That alone makes it worth paying attention to.

Although, many of us thought it was going to be Skyrim in space, honestly, it looks a bit more like Fallout in space to me, which is fine! Fallout is a great game and honestly, that comparison makes more sense, given the nature of Starfield. Now, let’s talk about that 1,000 fully explorable planets. I’m calling big cap on this. After No Man’s Sky, unless Todd Howard comes out and tells me that his team personally crafted those 1,000 planets, there’s no way those planets will have any substance! It sounds amazing on paper but there’s always a catch to these claims but we just have to wait and see in the coming months.
