#Odex Celebrates Kyojuro Rengoku’s Birthday With Special Mugen Train Screening

Odex has announced a special screening of Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train in Singapore on May 10, 2021 in celebration of Kyojuro Rengoku’s birthday. The film will be featured in Japanese with English and Chinese subtitles. It will run for 117 minutes at the Golden Village theaters in Vivocity Singapore. The movie ticket entitles fans to merchandise such as a Rengoku T-shirt, a Rengoku A4 folder, and a Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train tea cup.

The Mugen Train film first screened in Singapore on November 7, 2020 as a fan screening, with a general release on November 12, 2020. A Japan Import fan screening occurred on January 30-31, 2021, featuring illustration cards, a metal badge, the tea cup and A2 posters. Mugen Train was also released in other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam and the Philippines. The movie is currently available in North America and was first released on April 23, 2021 by Funimation and Aniplex of America. 

Mugen Train ranked #1 at the North American box office last weekend, and is now the third-highest grossing anime film in the United States. The film also broke records in Japan’s box offices, becoming the film with the highest weekday opening in Japan. It also surpassed Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away for the all-time highest grossing film in Japanese box-office history and as the #1 highest-grossing Japanese film of all time worldwide.

Falling forever into an endless dream… Tanjiro and the group have completed their rehabilitation training at the Butterfly Mansion, and they arrive to their next mission on the Mugen Train, where over 40 people have disappeared in a very short period of time. Tanjiro and Nezuko, along with Zenitsu and Inosuke, join one of the most powerful swordsmen within the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, to face the demon aboard the Mugen Train on track to despair.

The Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- anime series first aired in 2019 with 26 episodes. A compilation movie titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Bonds of Siblings also screened in the same year, with Mugen Train following the anime series as a sequel movie. A second anime season for the franchise has been announced for 2021, with Haruo Sotozaki returning as director at ufotable. Funimation added the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba television special episodes, consisting of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Sibling’s Bond; Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mt. Natagumo Arc; and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hashira Meeting Arc to their streaming library on April 15, 2021. 

The manga by Koyoharu Gotoge was first serialized in 2016 in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It ended with 211 chapters in 2020, with a total of 23 tankoubon volumes published.
