An NYPD sergeant struck by a hit-and-run driver in The Bronx last week left the hospital Sunday to applause from his fellow Finest.

Sgt. William Maher waved to a crowd of blue-clad cops as he was wheeled out of Lincoln Hospital, before rising and walking to greet the cheering throngs.

He wore a blue shirt emblazoned with “New York’s Finest” on the left breast — and his right arm in a sling, a reminder of the incident that landed him in the hospital.

A driver in a dark sedan plowed into Maher in the intersection of East 170th Street and Walton Avenue in Mount Eden in the early hours of June 2, video of the incident shows.

Maher flew into the air, and was nearly crunched between the fleeing sedan and another vehicle driving parallel to it, landing instead in the middle of the intersection, the video shows.

“That’s a f–king cop!” the shocked onlooker who filmed the collision can be heard saying. “Oh s–t!”

Two men were allegedly fleeing a pawnshop burglary when they slammed into Maher, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

The suspects, whose names weren’t immediately released, were arrested Thursday in South Carolina, and are expected to be arraigned later Sunday in New York, sources said.

The 44-year-old alleged driver is charged with attempted murder and reckless endangerment, while a 21-year-old man is charged with burglary, sources said.
