NYPD cops rescued a woman who refused to come down from the ledge of a Brooklyn overpass on Tuesday night, authorities and witnesses said.

Officers were able to grab the woman off the railing after she dropped her cigarette, according to a witness.

The woman was first spotted by a motorist on a railing atop an entrance ramp to the Gowanus Expressway in Bay Ridge at about 6:15 p.m., police said.

The woman on the ledge refused to step off in a nearly hour-long standoff with NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit.

The driver tried to talk to the woman, but she would not respond, cops said.

Members of the NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit arrived, along with other cops, and closed a portion of the roadway surrounding 65th Street and 3rd Avenue as they communicated with the woman.

After a nearly hour-long standoff, two ESU cops were able to grab the woman from the railing after she dropped her cigarette, according to a witness.

NYPD closed off a portion of the roadway surrounding 65th Street and 3rd Avenue while rescuing the woman.

The woman was taken to Lutheran Medical Center for an evaluation, police said.
