#NYPD closes streets near Trump hotel to keep protestors at bay

The NYPD has closed two blocks of Central Park West to keep protesters away from Trump International Hotel & Tower, according to cops.

“The area of Central Park West from Columbus Circle to West 62nd Street will be periodically closed off to pedestrian and street traffic until further notice due to security concerns at the location,” the department tweeted Monday evening.

The stretch was closed to cars and pedestrians Monday evening.

“It’s just a layer of protection to keep protesters away from the building in case things arise,” a department spokesman said.

Protests over police-involved killings and the election have rocked the city for months.

Cops would not say whether they had any credible threats on the hotel Monday evening.
