#NYC police union rips de Blasio over surge in violence

The Sergeants Benevolent Association attacked the mayor Friday, saying he doesn’t know his own city — as people flee the Big Apple over closed businesses and the surge in violence.

“Do you have a clue what city your [sic] in?” SBA President Ed Mullins tweeted.

“People are moving out of NYC and those who don’t are being shot and killed in record numbers. Not to mention all the businesses that are closed.”

Shootings and murders have surged over the last few months as the pandemic and protests have led to unrest in the city.

The tweet, which was in response to the mayor attacking Trump for saying during Thursday’s debate that NYC was a “ghost town,” was accompanied by photos of graffiti on Midtown Manhattan businesses.

The photos appear to be from the early days of the George Floyd protests.

One captured a Banana Republic storefront around June with “f–k NYPD” scrawled on the wood covering the windows. Another shows a torched NYPD smart car in front of a Bloomingdales in Soho on May 31.
