“#No Way Home Officially Becomes the Biggest Movie of the Year”
Starring Tom Holland, Jacob Batalon, Zendaya, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, the movie also sets up iconic antagonists such as Willem Dafoe’s Norman “Green Goblin” Osborne, Alfred Molina’s Otto “Doc Ock” Octavius, Jamie Foxx’s Max “Electro” Dillon as well as Rhys Ifans’ and Thomas Hayden Church’s Lizard and Sandman respectively. The film effectively merged three universes of Spider-Man, and those yearning for the real-life adaptation of the Spider-Verse will have to go and confirm it’s happening or omittance on the theatre screens itself, where it is currently, exclusively released. Good luck finding tickets though.
Many have compared the hype behind this film as next only to its predecessor, Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, also starring Tom Holland, with Holland himself marking it as a film larger than Endgame itself, due to its gigantic task of merging the three generations of Spider-Man and their characters, some of the villains from Sam Raimi’s trilogy, where Tobey Maguire played the photography-infatuated teenager who got powers from a bite of a radioactive spider, and some from Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man two-parter, starring the fanbase-dividing Andrew Garfield, where some hail him as the best and some as the worst adaptation of Spider-Man on screen, a large portion of that having to do with the cancelation of his The Amazing Spider-Man 3.
Fans are still recovering from certain elements of the movie and remain (excuse the pun) Marveling at this movie, which ignited some serious nostalgia, and some which brought them to absolute tears. And that mixture of old and new was enough to pull in some amazing numbers, where the question of Spider-Man: No Way Home being the largest movie of the pandemic era was finally answered, and it was surely not one which surprised the fans.
Surpassing blockbusters like Dune, F9, and No Time to Die, which boasted some impressive numbers in the pandemic-era box office, Spider-Man now claims the throne of the pandemic box office, and the innovative, cliffhanger ending can only leave the fans asking for more and more, a call answered when the development of the next trilogy of Spider-Man movies was confirmed by Amy Pascal in an interview, prior to the release of the film itself. The film itself fell victim to one of the unfortunate properties that were hoarded by delays and push-backs, many were relieved at finally seeing the film, having released months after its schedule. However, the product is not disappointing.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is now playing in theaters. This news comes to us from Variety.
