‘NYPD! Suck my d–k!” protesters chanted outside City Hall Tuesday night as the City Council worked overtime to slash the police budget in the middle of a crime wave.

New York’s Finest were stoic behind their masks as they took disgusting abuse from hundreds of champagne revolutionaries.

Did their mothers not teach their anti-cop offspring manners?

Clearly not. The Black Lives Matter protesters also have dispensed with any notion of egalitarianism, viewing themselves to be superior in intellect, education and morals to the officers they abuse.

“Half of you don’t have a college education to be out here making demands about the people when you can’t even read a f–king history book,” sneered one topless man captured on video in a green tutu, striding up and down before a line of expressionless cops.

He singled out a black cop for a racist rant.

“Traitor! Traitor to your f–king people! You’re like the f–king black Judas.”

And so it went in this charming fashion all night until officers arrested a few people early Wednesday morning, tussled with a few more and were ordered to retreat.

The mob toasted their victory, reportedly with champagne, and continued their occupation of City Hall Park, which they designated a “No Pig Zone” and “City Hall Autonomous Zone” or CHAZ (Mark 2).

This is the thanks the NYPD gets for keeping New Yorkers safe for a generation, through terrorist attacks, natural disasters and a pandemic.

Relentless abuse and more than $1 billion slashed from the budget as punishment for the sins of a bad cop in Minneapolis.

The protesters may think they’re hurting the men and women in blue, but if the demonized officers are driven out of the NYPD, they will find ample work as private security guards for rich people or in middle-class neighborhoods where residents pool their money for protection in an increasingly scary city.

Those who suffer most when 911 doesn’t answer and predators are empowered are the working poor and unprotected in unfashionable neighborhoods, the black and Latino residents of Bronx housing projects, which already are being described by NYCHA workers as the “OK Corral.”

All this misery is delivered in the name of Black Lives Matter.

The city homicide rate is at a five-year high and there were twice as many shootings this June as in the same month last year. Most victims are black, but no one is marching for them.

We all knew the consequences of bail reform and emptying out prisons. Yet still the Democrats who rule New York pressed ahead, with their crusade to dismantle law and order.

We have a “criminal-justice system that just is not working,” NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea told PIX11 Tuesday, “and I’m calling on Albany to fix it. Fix it now. People are dying on the streets of New York City.”

Too bad. Instead, one-sixth of his budget was blown away. No more Anti-Crime Unit to get the guns off the streets, and no new intake of 1,200 recruits. Overtime slashed in half will accelerate the retirement of officers anxious to preserve their pensions at current pay scales.

You don’t need to be Nostradamus to see the gathering storm.

In The Bronx, it has already hit. Candle memorials to slain kids in the corridors of NYCHA buildings are popping up with sickening regularity.

Sunday night, it was 17-year-old Brandon Hendricks, a good kid from a “family that prides itself on doing right by the community,” his uncle told CBS New York.

Instead of heading off to college on a basketball scholarship, he was killed in a random shooting.

“As much as we talk about black power and unity,” his grieving mother, Eve Hendricks, told The Post, “it’s like we’re killing each other and there is no one to step forward and say . . . it just has to end one way or another.”

Tuesday night, an 11-year-old in Brooklyn was shot in the leg in a drive-by shooting, and a 21-year-old man was shot dead in Queens.

No one is marching for them.

A 16-year-old was slaughtered in Seattle’s no-cop “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest” zone on Monday, when his stolen SUV was sprayed with bullets by CHOP’s self-appointed security guards. His 14-year-old friend was hospitalized. Livestreamed video of the aftermath showed a war zone, with blood and gore sprayed over the inside of the car and multiple bullet holes in the windshield.

Two black kids, gunned down by militia in a BLM protest against police brutality.

No one is marching for them.

Another black teen, Lorenzo Anderson, 19, was murdered in CHOP almost two weeks ago.

“This doesn’t look like a protest to me no more,” his father, Horace Lorenzo Anderson, told KIRO7. “I don’t know what this is. It’s turned into something else.”

But it was always something else.

The Marxist, anti-cop, anti-family Black Lives Matter movement is not designed to make black lives better, clearly.

It treats black lives as expendable pawns in a revolutionary game.

Mayor de Blasio, responsible for the emasculation of the NYPD and the spiraling crime rate, now plans to paint giant BLACK LIVES MATTER lettering on the Fifth Avenue pavement outside Trump Tower.

It will stand as a macabre testament to his pointless reign of terror.

Apologetic ecologist’s hot news

Eco-heretic Michael Shellenberger is sorry for pushing the climate scare of the past 30 years.

His defection has sent shock-waves through the global-warming movement, coming in the wake of leftist Michael Moore’s documentary blowing the whistle on the fraudulent renewable-energy industry.

Shellenberger’s climate credentials are sound. Time magazine’s 2008 Hero of the Environment, he was “invited by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change . . . to serve as Expert Reviewer of its next Assessment Report.”

Now in a new book, “Apocalypse Never: Why Environmental Alarmism Hurts Us,” he wants to “apologize for how badly we environmentalists have misled the public . . .

“Climate change is happening. It’s just not the end of the world.”

The penitence comes not a moment too soon, as teen climate firebrand Greta Thunberg is advocating “necessary force” against climate skeptics, including lining them up “against the wall.”

May cooler heads prevail.

Malaprop Joe feeling his way

Joe Biden was given a gentle reception by the media in his first press conference in three months this week.

He was charming and vaguely coherent, albeit with the assistance of a teleprompter and notes.

But, considering he has been criticized for unwanted fondling of people in public settings, he should have chosen his words more carefully when describing how COVID-19 has changed his campaign strategy.

“You know me. I’d much rather be out there with people because that’s where I get the greatest feel.”

Luckily for all involved, social distancing will limit the extent of that feel.
