#Nike postpones release of Travis Scott sneaker collaboration

Nike has postponed the launch of a sneaker collaboration with Travis Scott in the wake of the Astroworld music festival tragedy, the company announced Monday.

“Out of respect for everyone impacted by the tragic events at the Astroworld Festival, we are postponing the launch of the Air Max 1 x Cactus Jack,” Nike said in a message posted on its website.

The sneakers were reportedly set to be released on Dec. 16.

Ten people died and hundreds more were injured in a terrifying crowd surge at Scott’s Nov. 5 concert at Houston’s NRG Park.

Two days after the tragedy, an emote featuring the Travis Scott song “Out West” was scrubbed from the Fortnite item shop, Eurogamer reported.

Police are conducting a criminal probe into what happened at the festival.

No charges have been filed, but dozens of lawsuits have been filed over concertgoer deaths and injuries.

On Monday, local officials also announced an internal investigation into the cause of the fatal crowd surge.
