#Nicki Minaj’s husband’s accuser alleges threats, intimidation from rapper’s team

On Wednesday, The Real hosted Jennifer Hough, the woman who accused Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty of attempted rape in 1994. Petty was convicted of the crime in 1995 and served nearly four years in New York state prison. Minaj married Petty in 2018, and Hough says she has faced threats and intimidation from Minaj’s camp ever since. Now she has launched a lawsuit against the couple.

After detailing the assault for which Petty was convicted and its effects on her life, Hough alleged that she spoke directly to Nicki Minaj in March of 2020. “she called me,” Hough claimed, “and said that she got word that I was willing to help them out with a situation. I didn’t understand to what she was referring to.” Hough says that she refused Minaj’s offer to fly her and her family to Los Angeles. “I told her, woman to woman, this really happened,” Hough said.

Hough claims that Minaj and Petty instigated a campaign of harassment and intimidation against her after her refusal to cooperate. She alleges that Minaj and Petty sent representatives to negotiate with her family members, with one member of Minaj’s team offering Hough $20,000 in cash. “The last message I received,” Hough says, “was that I should have taken the money because they’re going to use that money to put on my head.”

When asked what she hopes to achieve through the lawsuit, Hough says that she wants “to let them know that they were wrong.” She continues: “He did something to me a long time ago and he had consequences that he was supposed to stick with… What they did to me and my family wasn’t right,” Hough says, “You can’t intimidate people to make things go better for you, and that’s what they did.”
