#Nicki Minaj joins Sexyy Redd for the “Pound Town” remix

Just yesterday, we picked Sexyy Redd’s “Pound Town” as a sleeper candidate for song of the summer. Right on cue, it’s got a remix featuring an A-list rapper, and it’s none other than Nicki Minaj. The New York rapper’s verse, full of sharp bars about her prerogative for pleasure on her terms, is a nice contrast to Sexyy Redd’s more conversational style, which feels more like a slightly oversharing friend is confiding in you.

Listen below. Yesterday, Nicki Minaj was revealed as one of the artists on the soundtrack for the upcoming Barbie movie, out July 21. The film’s new trailer contains a clip of Minaj’s new song, and it appears to be on a drill instrumental that samples Aqua’s “Barbie Girl.”
