Childcare centers across New York City could reopen as early as Monday.

The city’s Board of Health is set to vote on the measure later Tuesday that would reopen more than 3,000 city-regulated centers.

“The Board of Health is looking at the data, looking at the facts, how to do this properly, how to do this safely,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said Tuesday at his daily press briefing.

“One of the things we see, thank God, is that the data consistently shows a low infection rate among children when it comes to the coronavirus.”

Once open, the centers will operate under strict safety requirements — no more than 15 children per room, social distancing measures, face coverings for staff and children, daily health screenings, frequent cleanings and disinfection and limiting sharing of items, including toys.

Just 125 childcare programs have been open for children of essential workers amid the coronavirus outbreak.

“It’s been really, really tough for parents, so bringing back childcare is crucial now,” de Blasio said.
