#New Fate/Samurai Remnant Gameplay Videos Preview Combat, Exploration, Dog-Petting

KOEI TECMO has released new gameplay videos of the upcoming Fate/Samurai Remnant action RPG, which provide a preview of its musou hack-and-slash combat and exploration.

The Exploration video is arguably the most interesting of the bunch, featuring more of the game’s detailed rendition of Edo as well as the less serious side of Saber, who is shown to be both curious and gluttonous. The video ends with Saber affectionately petting a stray dog. That same Saber is seen unleashing flashy strikes and water-based abilities in the Battle Highlight video, while their Master and protagonist Iori Miyamoto cuts down swarms of enemies with his dual-blade fighting style.

The Battle Highlight 2 video moves away from more regular enemy types and has Iori and Saber combating tougher opponents, with certain moments requiring the player to mash a specific button to overpower their foe. 

Fate/Samurai Remnant is set to launch globally on September 29 (September 28 in Japan) for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. The premise involves Iori becoming involved in the Waxing Moon Ritual, where seven pairs of Masters and Servants battle each other to win the wish-granting Waxing Moon’s Vessel. There are also Masterless Rogue Servants who may aid Iori. Kinoko Nasu is supervising the title with Rei Wataru as character designer and Hikaru Sakurai and Yuichirou Higashide as story supervisors. 

The game’s opening animation movie, which was produced by CloverWorks and directed by Nakaya Onsen, was released on YouTube earlier this month.
