#New Paltz cop suspended for performing offensive rap in uniform

An upstate cop has been suspended for performing a rap song — that disparaged transgender people and called for Hillary Clinton to be “hanged” — while in uniform and posting the video online, according to a report.

New Paltz officer Robert Sisco is seen in the 70-second clip with his name emblazoned on his vest as he sits in a car and sounds off.

“Hey, hi, hello, this is officer Bob. Last name Sisco, first name Rob,” he sings.

“I’m a man of many talents so many talents in fact. I know you’re thinking that I’m black so of course I can rap. Well that’s partially true and the truth does hurt,” he continues.

“No I’m not Will Smith so f—- I’m gonna curse. Spit facts over feelings because you’re feelings are irrelevant. There’s only two genders and Trump’s still your president.”

“Boys have a penis and girls have a vagina,” he continues. “This whole coronavirus was sent here from China.”

“Hillary is Killary, we all know the reason. Where those emails at? We should hang her for treason,” he says.

In a later verse, he sings, “Just because I’m a cop it doesn’t mean that I’m bad … but I’d rather use my words than resorting to violence.”

The video caused an uproar in the Ulster County community of about 14,000 residents 90 miles north of New York City.

In a statement, the Town Board said. “We are so sorry that the trust of many in our community has been broken and that their safety feels threatened.

“No one in our town should have to feel that way about our police. … We are all committed to repairing trust with our New Paltz transgender and LGBTQ community members,” it added, according to the Daily Freeman.

Town Supervisor Neil Bettez Bettez told the news outlet that Sisco has been placed on paid administrative leave pending a police investigation.

“I assume it was a police vehicle. If it wasn’t, he should tell us … It was filmed while he was on duty, and it’s up to him to prove to us it’s not, and to me that’s the issue,” Bettez told the Daily Freeman. “People can do stupid things if they want, but not on my time in a town car. That’s why he’s in trouble.”

He added; “We want to make people feel safe. … We were the first town to have same sex-marriage. We like to think we’re a role model. … We take it personally.”

The supervisor cited several peaceful protests in New Paltz in the wake of George Floyd’s death while in custody of Minneapolis police, saying the officer “should know better than to [inflame tensions] now.”

Bettez added that the incident has led him to question his “faith” in the police.

“This makes it harder to just give [police] the benefit of the doubt. … We need to rebuild trust,” he told the Daily Freeman.

Police Chief Robert Lucchesi told the paper the internal probe has begun, adding that “because I play a role in the process, it would be improper for me to say something in relation to this investigation while it’s playing out.”
