Now, a representative for Reservoir has told Variety that the new label ownership wants to finally bring the De La Soul catalog to streaming. “We have already reached out to De La Soul and will work together to the bring the catalog and the music back to the fans,” the statement reads.
Tommy Boy announced plans to put De La Soul’s music on streaming platforms back in 2019, but those plans were put on ice after the batnd spoke out against the “unbalanced, unfair terms” of their contract with the label, which would have apparently seen the trio receive 10% of streaming profits.
