#Nevada gets memed for taking its sweet time to release their vote counts

“#Nevada gets memed for taking its sweet time to release their vote counts”
The U.S. is still waiting intently on the final vote counts in key swing states, including Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada. Former Vice President Joe Biden remains in the lead over President Donald Trump, but we’ll need to see one or more of these states decided before there can be a projection on which candidate won the election.
Nevada, oh Nevada… Nevada has proven especially frustrating for folks itching for a decision. It has waffled on keeping the count going, stopping it for the night, etc. We’re poised to maybe, finally start to see the final votes trickle in on Thursday, starting with a batch at noon. The vote-counting process was always going to take a long time — the huge number of mail-in ballots have complicated matters — but that hasn’t stopped people from getting jokes off to ease their election anxiety.
And frankly, the memes about Nevada’s slow count are amazing. Here are a few of our favorites.

The memes are funny, sure, but they also hint at how the U.S. is feeling right now. The nation has an idea of what the future of the country might look like, but there’s a massive undercurrent of anxiety as we wait to get the full view. So much is at stake and all we can do is wait on the slow churn of bureaucratic processes. Until then: memes.
