#Netflix to require all employees, visitors to be vaccinated

Netflix is joining a growing number of major US companies in requiring workers to get vaccinated for COVID-19 as they return to the office.

The streaming giant is mandating that staffers and anyone visiting its offices be vaccinated, Variety reported. Currently, the company’s offices are open to vaccinated employees but workers are still allowed to work from home for the foreseeable future.

Netflix had planned to call employees back to the office after Labor Day, but spikes in Covid infections have put a pin in that plan. Nonetheless, Netflix has been a leader among Hollywood studios in setting early coronavirus safety policies.

In July, the Los Gatos, California-based firm became the first major Hollywood studio to implement a policy mandating vaccinations for the casts of all its US productions, as well as any visitors on set.

The streamer is the latest in a line of big companies to impose vaccine mandates to employees. Last week, Disney said it will require all salaried and non-union hourly workers to be fully vaccinated before they return to work.

Facebook, Uber, Microsoft, Walmart, Tyson Foods and Google have also required most or all of its employees to get the jab before coming back to the office.
