Los Angeles Lakers guard J.R. Smith, 34, went on Instagram Live to show holding up a plastic bowl with instant macaroni and cheese, griping, “you want us to eat this s***?”
“I’m just saying bro. You want a Ferrari to run like a Ferrari because you paid for it as a Ferrari, but you keep gassing it up with all this…Chrysler s***”
Joel Embiid, Montrezl Harrell, Troy Daniels and Ben McLemore also took to social media to whine about their dining options. This after Lakers veteran Rajon Rondo compared his room at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort to a “Motel 6.”
They and hundreds of other players are gathering at Disney in Orlando, Florida, this week as the NBA prepares to relaunch its season.
Not everyone was complaining.
Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies said he was enjoying himself.
“My room is fine. The food is fine. I’m not a silver spoon guy,” he said, according to the Commercial Appeal.
Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown urged his fellow players to chill.
‘We understand that the conditions might not be as normal as we’re used to. But no need to complain,” Brown told Mass Live.
