#National Independent Venue Association Announces NFT Fundraiser Auction

The National Independent Venue Association has announced a “Golden Ticket” fundraising initiative, with proceeds from the sales of NFTs benefiting clubs still struggling to survive the COVID-19 pandemic. The organization arranged the project with the collective Goldflyer, and the fundraiser will go live at 6 p.m. Eastern on April 7 via MakersPlace. See more at Goldflyer.

Ten famous independent venues will benefit from the sales, among them New York’s Bowery Ballroom, New Orleans’ Tipitina’s, Seattle’s Neumos, and Nashville’s EXIT/IN, as well as NIVA’s emergency relief fund. Nick van Hofwegen, a multimedia artist who operates under the moniker Young & Sick, designed the visuals for the project. Those who purchase the NFTs (a sort of digital collectibles, short for “non-fungible tokens”) for van Hofwegen’s individual representations of each venue will receive “VIP access and exclusive perks to future concerts and events,” according to a press release.
