#Yankees’ Joey Gallo busts out with two homers

CHICAGO — That’s the Joey Gallo the Yankees have been waiting for.

The left fielder, who had just one homer since arriving in a trade with the Rangers, hit two in Saturday’s 7-5, 10-inning win over the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The first was a solo shot in the opening inning.

After Gallo struck out twice and walked, he came up again following Aaron Judge’s go-ahead RBI single in the 10th and provided some added runs with a mammoth two-run homer to right.

Gallo entered the game in a 7-for-50 slump, with four walks, a homer, three RBIs, a dozen walks and 23 strikeouts, to go along with a .586 OPS since joining the Yankees.

“That’s how baseball works,’’ Gallo said of his issues since joining the Yankees. “You just want good at-bats and the results might not always be there. I know I haven’t put up huge numbers, but I’m getting on base. It’s about winning. Until the home runs come, I’ll try to have good at-bats … the home runs will come.”

And Judge credited Gallo’s presence behind him in the lineup for his hot streak, as Judge is 12-for-29 with three doubles, four homers and 12 RBIs in his past seven games.
