#Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water's Four Main VAs Release Comments for Its 30th Anniversary

On the release day of Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water Blu-ray Box STANDARD EDITION in Japan today, King Amusement Creative released special comments from the anime's four main voice cast members – Yoshino Takamori (Nadia), Noriko Hidaka (Jean), Kumiko Takizawa (Grandis), and Akio Otsuka (Nemo). The contents of the seven discs in the 22,000 yen (about 212 US dollars) set are the same as the previous box set released in 2011.

As Hideaki Anno's first directorial TV anime, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water was aired for 39 episodes from April 1990 to March 1991. The anime's character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and soundtrack composer Shiro Sagisu later teamed up with Anno again on his next TV series Neon Genesis Evangelion in 1995-1996.

Yoshino Takamori (Nadia):

Congratulations on the release of "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water Blu-ray Box STANDARD EDITION. I'm Yoshino Takamori who played Nadia, and I'm very happy that the Blu-ray box is being released to commemorate the 30th anniversary because it makes me realize that this anime has been loved by so many people across the ages. I also appreciate my happiness to meet the role of Nadia, who is said to be the one and only heroine.

Noriko Hidaka (Jean):

Congratulations on the 30th-anniversary of "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water." I'm deeply moved by the fact that so many years have already passed. When I first saw the visual in the recording studio, I was fascinated by the characters moving vividly on the screen. The character I played, Jean, grows up to be kind, strong, and resilient through encounters with various people in the story. Each part of him that makes you laugh, cry, and swoon is all fascinating. I hope you will take this opportunity to see it.

Kumiko Takizawa (Grandis):

As I made my debut in the Time Bokan series, Grandis was a role I really wanted to play. Even now, when I watch it again, it's still a fun anime with a solid theme. It was a very energetic and fun experience to be recorded with the wonderful staff and co-stars. This Blu-ray box commemorates the 30th-anniversary of "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water." I am "grateful" that many people will be able to see this anime again.

Akio Otsuka (Nemo):

Congratulations on the 30th anniversary of "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water." It's already been 30 years… I am deeply moved by this opportunity to revive it in the present day of Reiwa. Please take a look at this timeless and beloved anime.
