Previously announced back in September of 2020, new information has now been revealed for the upcoming 30th anniversary exhibition celebrating the classic Hideaki Anno / Gainax TV anime, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, including the venue and schedule as well as a new key visual (below).
The "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water Exhibition" will run from February 17 – March 08, 2021, at the DAIMARU MUSEUM (Umeda) venue located on the 15th floor of the Daimaru Umeda department store in Umeda, Kita Ward, Osaka, Japan. The exhibition features some 400 pieces of art work, including storyboards, character settings, image boards by character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and animator Mahiro Maeda, and the original concept memo by director Hideaki Anno.
Original character goods such as pins, key chains, watch charms, and canvas art will also be available for purchase at the exhibition, and visitors who spend at least 5000 yen (about $47.35 US) at the gift shop will receive a "special shopper" as a bonus gift. Additionally, while supplies last visitors who purchase a ticket will receive a section of 16mm film print from the show's original 1990 – 1991 broadcast as a special admission prize.
Advance tickets to the exhibition range in price from 1200 yen ($11.36 US) for a regular admission to 4200 yen ($39.77 US) for a ticket and official exhibition guidebook combo. Tickets cost an addition 300 yen if purchased at the door.
