#My Dress-Up Darling TV Anime Reveals January 8 Premiere in New Trailer, Visual

The official Twitter account for the My Dress-Up Darling TV anime, which is adapting Shinichi Fukuda‘s mature romantic-comedy manga series, revealed the series’ premiere date alongside the opening and ending theme song artists tonight. A new trailer and visual was released to celebrate the news.

Singing the opening theme song will be J-Pop group Spira Spica performing “Sansan Days,” while Akari Akase performs the ending theme song “Koi no Yukue.”

Young Gangan Magazine has chapters of My Dress-Up Darling in Japan twice-monthly since it started serialization on January 19, 2018. Square Enix releases the manga series in English, describing the first volume as such:

Traumatized by a childhood incident with a friend who took exception to his love of traditional dolls, doll-artisan hopeful Wakana Gojou passes his days as a loner, finding solace in the home ec room at his high school. To Wakana, people like beautiful Marin Kitagawa, a trendy girl who’s always surrounded by a throng of friends, is practically an alien from another world. But when cheerful Marin–never one to be shy–spots Wakana sewing away one day after school, she barges in with the aim of roping her quiet classmante into her secret hobby: cosplay! Will Wakana’s wounded heart be able to handle the invasion from this sexy alien?!

The My Dress-Up Darling TV anime is directed by Keisuke Shinohara and features animation produced at CloverWorks. The series is scheduled to begin broadcasting in Japan on TOKYO MX on January 8 at 24:00 (effectively 12 AM on January 9).
