Welcome 2 America, the previously unreleased 2010 Prince album, is out next week.
Prince’s estate is prepping the release of Welcome 2 America, an album recorded in 2010 by the artist that has never seen the light of day. “Hot Summer,” the project’s latest single, is a meat-and-potatoes rock and roll track that fits comfortably within Prince’s 2010s era. Listen above.
Welcome 2 America is out on July 30. The 23-track project is the first posthumous Prince album of original work to be released since his death. The album will include “Born 2 Die,” a song that was written after Dr. Cornel West opined that Prince “was no Curtis Mayfield.”
