The singer was only three shows into her North America leg of the anniversary tour of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
Last night (October 22), Ms. Lauryn Hill took to social media to postpone her concert at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Arena. She was on tour with her group, Fugees, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her seminal solo debut The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
“It is with disappointment that I am writing this note to you,” she said on Twitter. “On the advice of my physicians, I have no choice but to postpone the show tomorrow. I need to rest my voice to prevent any more serious strain or damage to my vocal cords.” Read the full statement below.
it’s unclear if Ms. Hill will continue with the tour, as she’s notorious for canceling shows. Last year, Fugees canceled their The Score anniversary reunion tour due to the ongoing pandemic. It was later found that member Pras was going to trial for a federal conspiracy case. He was convicted of all ten charges.
The FADER has reached out to Ms. Lauryn Hill’s representatives for comment. We’ll report more as the story unfolds.
