#MOLMAX CG Film Reveals Staff & New Visual
A new key visual and production staff have been revealed for the new Pui Pui Molcar 3DCG anime film Pui Pui Molcar the Movie: MOLMAX. The film will premiere in Japan sometime later this year.
Mankyu (The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague) will be directing the new CG film, with Yuko Kakihara (Buddy Daddies, Cells at Work!) writing the script and screenplay and Tomoki Misato (Pui Pui Molcar season 1 director) serving as chief supervisor and original creator. TOHO NEXT is distributing the film.
Pui Pui Molcar the Movie: MOLMAX was first announced in January 2024 with a short teaser depicting the lead piggie Potato.
The first season of Pui Pui Molcar aired in 2021, followed up with the second season Pui Pui Molcar Driving School in 2022. A compilation film of the first season was released in July 2021.
The series has inspired several merchandise, a Nintendo Switch video game, and cross-franchise collaborations.
Netflix is streaming both seasons of Pui Pui Molcar, which describes the series as:
They’re guinea pigs! And they’re cars! The fuzzy and adorable molcars have lots of fun adventures in this delightful stop-motion animation.
