#Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- Remains At Top of Japanese Weekend Box Office

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- continues to be the top performer at the Japanese weekend box office, with a moviegoer count of 306,000 during the February 24 to 26 JST period. It earned 528 million yen (~US$3,419) during this time.

In total, the theatrical re-edit, which serves as a preview of the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX serues by compiling some of its episodes, drew 856,371 viewers and made 1,432,794,300 yen (~US$9.20 million) yen since its January 17 JST release. Last year, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Freedom made 1.06 billion yen (~US$6.88 million) in its debut weekend.

Meanwhile, Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing, which also debuted on January 17 JST and was previously ranked second, fell to seventh place on the weekend ranking. Gekijouban Nintama Rantaro: Dokutake Ninjatai Saikyou no Gunshi fell slightly, from sixth to seventh, while the live-action Cells At Work! film remained at fourth place.
