“#Mieruko-chan Promotional Video Released Ahead of October 3 Premiere”
The upcoming Mieruko-chan anime has received a promotional video ahead of its October 3 premiere in Japan and on Funimation.
Mieruko-chan follows Miko Yotsuya, a girl who can see hideous ghosts and tries to ignore them despite constantly coming across the entities. The anime is based on the ongoing Kadokawa-published manga by Tomoki Izumi, which began in 2018 and has five tankōbon volumes as of March 2021.
The staff includes Yuki Ogawa (Ishuzoku Reviewers) as the director, Kenta Ihara (Shachibato! President, It’s Time for Battle!) as the series composer and scriptwriter, and Chikashi Kadekaru (Scared Rider Xechs) as the character designer and one of the six chief animation directors.
Other staff include Makoto Uno (Ishuzoku Reviewers character designer) as one of the ghost designers, KUSANAGI’s Ayano Okamoto (HYPNOSISMIC –Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima) as the art director, and Ritsuko Utagawa (MEGALOBOX 2: NOMAD) as the color designer. 4tune’s Yang Xiaomu (SEVEN KNIGHTS REVOLUTION -Hero Successor-), who was at Graphinica during the show’s production, is the photography director. Passione is the animation production studio.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Sora Amamiya as Miko, Kaede Hondo as Hana Yurikawa, and Ayane Sakura as Yuria Nigureda. Amamiya is also performing the opening song “Mienai kara ne!?” and the ending song “Mita na? Mita yo ne? Miteru yo ne???” as her character.
