“#Mets’ Jake Marisnick exits with right hamstring tightness”

After spending time on the injured list last month with a left hamstring strain, the Mets outfielder departed Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays with tightness in the right one.
Marisnick, who started in center field, went 1-for-2 with an RBI double in the Mets’ 3-2 loss at Sahlen Field. For now there is hope he will avoid the IL.
“We didn’t want to push him any more to see if he can have him [Sunday],” manager Luis Rojas said.
Marisnick has thrived in a part-time role against lefty pitchers. He is 11-for-29 (.379) for the season with two homers and five RBIs, providing a dependable glove in center.
Wilson Ramos’ awakening bat was reason enough for the Mets to stick with him behind the plate.
Though Seth Lugo had meshed with Robinson Chirinos during the right-hander’s previous start, Rojas examined other factors in filling out his lineup card against the Blue Jays.
Most notably, Ramos handled Jacob deGrom and Erasmo Ramirez in a satisfactory manner and finished 3-for-5 with a homer. Ramos entered play 10-for-34 (.294) with three homers and seven RBIs over his previous 11 games.
Ramos went 1-for-3, but hit into a double play in the ninth inning after Brandon Nimmo had drawn a leadoff walk.
Steven Matz worked out with teammates before the game, but was not activated. Rojas indicated the left-hander will soon be removed from the injured list, where he’s spent the last two weeks rehabbing from left shoulder bursitis. Matz could be a rotation option, but appears more likely for a return to the bullpen, providing length if a starting pitcher gets knocked out early.
Rojas expects to announce his rotation for the week on Sunday. The Mets have the option of skipping Michael Wacha because of Monday’s day off. In that scenario, Rick Porcello could open the series in Philadelphia on full rest, with deGrom and Lugo slotting behind him. The Mets won’t need a fifth starter until next Saturday.
