#Metroid Celebrates 35th Anniversary as New Dread Teaser Debuts

“#Metroid Celebrates 35th Anniversary as New Dread Teaser Debuts”

The first Metroid game debuted on Nintendo’s Famicom Disk System in Japan back on August 6, 1986, followed by a release on NES in the west in 1987. Now that the series is officially celebrating its 35th anniversary, Nintendo came through with a new teaser for the latest game in the series, Metroid Dread, as well a decidedly low-key means of marking the anniversary occasion.
Imagine if your parents celebrated your 35th birthday with three tweets.
Launched on the NES in 1987 in North America, Metroid is the first adventure featuring the bounty hunter Samus Aran. She explores Planet Zebes while battling Space Pirates who are attempting to weaponize a newly discovered lifeform known as a Metroid. #MetroidDread pic.twitter.com/HRLQ4o1asY

Here’s some of the original art of the characters and creatures from Metroid, including Ridley who looks much different than the version you may know most recently from Super #SmashBrosUltimate.

Fun fact: the game’s title comes from a combination of the words ‘metro’ and ‘android’.https://t.co/hpC2UcsiqG
