The COVID-19 pandemic brought the concert industry to an abrupt stop in March when the novel coronavirus started its global rampage.

After an 18-month hiatus, the organizers of the National Cannabis Festival (NCF) have returned with the fifth anniversary celebration at the RFK Campus in Washington, D.C.

According to a press release, headliners include Method Man, Redman, Young M.A (who is very much not pregnant), Afrobeat collective Antibalas and more.

“We are thrilled to bring the National Cannabis Festival back to D.C., the community, and fans who’ve been waiting since 2019 to celebrate in-person again,” NCF Founder Caroline Phillips said. “The cannabis community is ready to listen to good music, with good friends, while raising awareness of federal cannabis legislation and the work that activists are engaged in to advocate for greater equity, accessibility and comprehensive reform for the cannabis community.”

In addition to the music, the event includes four educational pavilions — Wellness, Policy, Culture and the Grow School — where attendees can participate in discussions on the medicinal benefits of cannabis, speak with medical professionals and dispensary owners and focus their minds with free yoga sessions. NCF will also host a wide range of exhibitors offering the “best cannabis accessories and lifestyle brands.”

The event is the latest in a long list of new tours and one-offs. Erykah Badu, Lil Baby and Lil Durk, Wu-Tang Clan, Run The Jewels, Cypress Hill, Z-Trip and Atmosphere are among the many, many artists scheduled to return to the stage this year.

The National Cannabis Festival takes place on August 28. New to the festival this year is a special Seniors Lounge, a place for our “golden buds” to gather.

General admission tickets for the 2021 event are available for $55. Admission bundles start at $70. Find more information here.
